Recap: AAG WinterConference 2026

This year's AAG WinterConference was another great success: seven days in the snow, 1 to 8 March at the Almdorf Reiteralm near Schladming — with alumni friends we already knew and others who became friends over the course of the week. With the Premium Chalet Alpenfürst, we had a very spacious cabin with twelve beds, a sauna, and a jacuzzi.

The weekly routine followed the familiar pattern. Fresh bread rolls were delivered to the cabin every morning, the early risers set the table, and the late sleepers cleared up afterwards. At lunchtime we met up in small or large groups at one of the many mountain huts and worked our way through the culinary highlights of the 4-Berge-Skischaukel. This year the competition was more about who could get away with the thinnest ski jacket: despite brilliant sunshine and temperatures that at times hit double digits, we were still able to set off each morning right outside the cabin door on impressively groomed pistes. Even the valley runs were skiable until the lifts closed.

While some spent long stretches in the sauna or the jacuzzi, the assigned kitchen team conjured up a delicious dinner every evening. We were thoroughly successful in our plan to offer vegans more than just fries and salad — and we also navigated the fine line around a legume allergy. Evenings were filled with card games, exit games, the Nintendo Switch, and plenty of conversations about world events as well as the current situation at AIESEC. A special highlight, as always, was tobogganing on the final evening.
