On the last weekend of October, AAG celebrated its 60th anniversary — a very special occasion that began back in 1964 at the Paris Bar in Berlin. AIESECers and AIESEC Alumni from 38 countries and every continent came together for the festive anniversary gala at the Electoral Palace of Mainz. With 246 guests, we enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner and listened to inspiring keynote speakers from every level and function of AIESEC and AIESEC Alumni.

The highlight of the evening was the keynote by Fernando Carro, former AIESEC PAI and currently CEO of Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He spoke about the common ground between AIESEC, the business world, and sport, his convictions about leadership, and the importance of AIESEC — especially today. In this context, Fernando also called for closer exchange between AIESEC and its alumni, and for more intensive alumni support of AIESEC. Bernd Thomas, now 90 years old and himself a former PAI, also impressed the audience by placing AIESEC in its historical context. All the speeches were recorded on video and will gradually be made available on AAG's YouTube channel.

After the speeches, the band Souldance kept the energy high — the dance floor stayed busy throughout the night. As the emotional evening came to a close, many could hardly believe how quickly the time had passed.

The ball was the highlight of an eventful conference weekend that, alongside the general assemblies of AIESEC Alumni Germany and Europe, also included two joint dinners, a visit to ZDF, a dance course, country presentations, city tours, and a visit to the legendary Kupferberg sparkling wine cellar.

A huge thank you goes to our strong organizing team spanning several generations, as well as to the dedicated student Day OC from AIESEC Germany. Your commitment, your free time, and your passion made a decisive contribution to the success of this event! For many alumni, the event had the character of an International Alumni Congress — and the overwhelmingly positive feedback means a great deal to us.

Carsten Tonn was OCP of the AAG 60th Jubilee Celebration.
